We do not remember days, we remember moments!

I know that I've said for months that I was starting a blog.  I did start one, but I never gave anyone the link.  This time I'm really doing it...and i mean it!   It may not be pretty or all pulled together, but it's what I call my blog:)

Thought I would give you all an update on what is going on with us right now.

We finally found a small group!  Yes, we have only been praying and looking for one since we moved almost 2 years ago.  This past Wed we went to one at church that is just getting started. They are going to meet once a month at church with childcare and once a month do a social event with the entire family.  I know this may not sound like a big deal to you all in TN, but let me tell you, child care for small groups around here does not exist...you have to get a babysitter.  Anyway, it was a total answer to prayer.  We not only left feeling encouraged, but we actually liked the people. Plus, another bonus they all have kids the same age range of ours and they are all around our age.  You know, 40 ish with babies:)  Once a month is not much, but for this time of year it is perfect for us.  We are also planning on helping some local outreach ministries as a group too...we are planning on taking our older kids with us on the service projects too.  Doug and I have been wanting to do this with Abby, but just haven't taken the initiative to do it by ourselves.  We are also excited about that.

Abby is thriving in first grade.  She is getting so big!  I can't believe it at times, but I'm sure every parent feels that way about their children especially their oldest.
This morning she was reading a book to Ella about the story of Christmas and Ella was ready to turn on the cartoons so Ella closed the book and very happily said, "THE END!"  Abby very quickly got upset and I told suggested she tell Ella the story of when Jesus was born.  That was all she needed to get excited and Ella too.  "Can I tell her the whole story of Jesus, Mommy?"  she asked.  You know my answer:)
I couldn't help but stand outside the door and listen as my 6 year old detailed the life of Jesus to my 2 year old only a way a 6 year old can.
A few things I learned:
-Mary and Joseph went to a hotel without any furniture, so they had to sleep on new hay.
-New hay is not comfortable.
-They were riding on a camel
-Jesus grew and he grew and he grew (almost felt like I was listening to Miss Pattycake.)
-Some men did not like Jesus
-They put him in a tunnel with a big round rock over the opening
-He was in there for like 3 weeks
-Then they put him on a cross to die for our sins
-They put a crown of thorns on his head(she didn't add anything to that:)
-Then he died, but he rose again!
-He went up to Heaven
-Now he's invisible, just like the angels

Needless to say it was a priceless moment.  One I hope to remember for a long time.

Ella is 2.  She is testing all her independent skills.  She makes us laugh and some days I wonder how we will make it to 3:)  She is going to a mother's day out program once a week---we both love it!  Ella loves make-up and dressing up.

Lily is a year old now.  I cannot believe it!  Sometimes I wondered if I would make it through the last year, by the grace of God I was given more mercy than one mommy deserves.  Lillian Hope, what a special blessing she is.  More than my words can express, but I will try in another post coming soon. She loves to say hi and bye-bye and she still loves to eat!
Naptime is soon coming to a close and I need to wrap it up.
Pictures coming soon!

Until next time, we will continue to cherish our moments!
