Snow days!

It snowed here over a week ago and we still have snow on the ground.  We've had snow for so long that it was snowing the other day and the girls did not even care.  It was old news to them.  On the first day it snowed it wasn't so cold that we couldn't go outside.  Abby and Ella had a blast playing in the snow with Doug!
Ella loved being pulled on the sled.  She actually flew off the back here, but she was ready to go again.
Abby and her M.C. Hammer snow pants.  We don't have snow pants so we improvised becasue it was so cold that day.  She is wearing a pair of Doug's old wind pants that we cut off to go over her other layers to try and keep her jeans from getting wet.  we have never really needed snow pants here before, but maybe we should think about it for next year:)

Anyway, the snow was lots of fun for all of us....except Lily who was inside sleeping.

This is a continuation of the last post which I started in January.  Since January we have had more snow than we could have imagined we would get this year. It has been beautiful, but we are tired of feeling like we live in a snowglobe.  We are all tired of the white stuff that turns ugly brown after it sits around for a few weeks.  We are also so thankful that we don't live any farther north.  Anyone else ready for spring?

Oh, you might be happy to know that I did buy some snow pants for the girls and Abby no longer looks like the before mentioned singer.

Today, however it is raining!  When we left church this morning it was pouring and I was thrilled for it to be washing all the dirt and salt away.

It has been warm here this weekend compared to the very cold weather we have had these past few months.  Yesterday Abby had a great time playing with some of her friends in our neighborhood.  I was resting while the little ones were napping, and all of the sudden Abby races into the house.  She looks at me with a very serious look and announces, "Mommy, I think spring is arriving right now!"  It was so sweet and so funny all at the same time.  I wish I had it captured on video.  Then she asked if she could put some shorts on because she was getting very hot....you know, it's 56 degrees outside:)
